Abstract

AAP recommends the use of transcutaneous bilirubinometry (TcB) in screening of jaundice in newborns >35 weeks’ gestation. At Singapore General Hospital (SGH), TcB has been used to screen jaundice in neonates born >35 weeks’ gestation within 2 weeks of postnatal age. To establish the agreement between TcB and TSB in neonates born preterm, a prospective cohort study was conducted from October 2020 to January 2022 to evaluate the agreement between transcutaneous bilirubin (TcB) and serum bilirubin (TSB) levels before, during and 24 hours after cessation of phototherapy.
